If an application or PKG installation fails on a Mac OS X system, try turning back the date to a year or less after the application was released before running the installer/application and then fix the date when finished.

- HTML Bible Reader - a desktop web application whose main purpose is to view an internal HTML version of the Bible; HOWEVER, you could look within the application and perhaps use it to create your own portable book or help/companion app
- iWork 09 - Apple iWork 09 productivity suite including Pages, KeyNote, Numbers; iWork 05 to 09 are all Universal
- iWork 09 Update - after installing iWork 09, use this to update it
- KaleidaGraph v1.4 - a statistics program
- LibreOffce 4.3.7.2 - free and open-source office suite; within app contents is the 'soffice' binary for headless document conversion if needed; click here for a recommended list of supported extensions
- LyX and MacTeX 2016 - packages needed to create documents using TeX or LaTeX; you only need the two largest; the extras includes a copy of LyX, which is a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) LaTeX editor; this version of LyX is NOT compatible with v2.3 and newer (according to failed 'lyx2lyx' converter); click here for installation help and tips
- MathType v6.7e - "a powerful interactive equation editor that lets you create mathematical notation for word processing, web pages, desktop publishing, presentations, elearning, and for TeX, LaTeX, and MathML documents"; includes plugins for MS Office 2008 and 2011

- Octave Forge 3.4.0 - Mac OS X version of GNU Octave, a high-level interpreted language, primarily intended for numerical computations
- OpenLP v2.0.5 - a free and open-source program for church-related presentations and singing; use v1.9.7 for Leopard; for resources, click here but the Bible import will not work
- PEDMAS v3.1 - scientific calculator widget with an easy-to-use interface for doing calculations with equations and variables
- SOFA Statistics v1.4.6 - free and open-source statistics program
- SPSS Statistics v21 - a very popular statistics program within educational and business circles; HOWEVER, as far as a license/registration key and so forth goes, you are on your own; if you want a free and open-source alternative, you will have to use Macports to grab 'pspp' to compile for Leopard/Snow Leopard
- Stellarium 0.11.4 - a real-time, realistic planetarium; use to figure out where object are in the sky based on your location and time; no Internet required

- GoodNotes v4.11.8 - an incredible note-taking program that feels like a virtual notebook with a ton of features, including built-in handwriting recognition when searching; exported PDF is searchable; can also be used to annotate PDFs; "Documents On" friendly for GNU/Linux users; click here for a YouTube video; using your own [dark-themed] templates may help save battery
- GraphCalc HD v1.0.4 - A graphing calculator; however, you still may want to install PCalc RPN Calculator v2.3.3
- Keynote v1.7.2 - it is a presentation creation/viewing program; exports to Numbers, PDF, and PowerPoint
- Numbers v1.7.3 - use this to create spreadsheets; exports to Numbers, PDF, and Excel
- Pages v1.7.2 - use this to create documents; exports to Pages, PDF, and Word
- PCalc RPN Calculator v2.3.3 - a scientific calculator; no graphing capability; iOS devices setup without an E-Mail/iCloud account are missing the default calculator app
- Stellarium-xl v1.5.2 - planetarium; use this to map your current night sky; you can even set it up to point and identify based on location (manual or automatic) and built-in gyros (after calibration); no Internet required
