  • binmerge - use this tool to create a single BIN and CUE file before using the cue2pops tool for PS1 games
  • BlackRhino Linux - A GNU/Linux distribution for the PS2
  • Bochs - PS2 version of Bochs, a program that runs x86 operating systems like QEMU or VirtualBox but much lighter
  • cue2pops - convert PS1 bin/cue files to a POPStarter-firendly (.vcd) format for soft-modded PS2 consoles
  • Dr. Mario - PS2 version of Dr. Mario made with Lua; may be useful for creating your own games
  • Enceladus - create Lua games for PS2
  • esrtool - patches ISO backups of PS2 games to behave like a video DVD so that burned DVD discs will run
  • iso2usbld - breaks-up PS2 ISO's larger than the 4GB file-size limit for FAT32-formatted hard drives
  • LuaPlayerPS3 v5.3.2 - player Lua scripted games on the PS3; click here for a "Doki Doki Literature Club" game example
  • myPS2 - a nice-looking file-manager, image-viewer, and music player for the PS2 with an easy-to-edit skin
  • OpenPS2Loader - use this to update the OPL program on your Free McBoot memory card
  • PS2 Intro Loader - have your own custom load screen when booting the PS2, including an AVI video
  • PS2Linux - "An easy way to install Linux OS in PlayStation 2"; grab it for the Linux 2.6.35.4 mipsel PS2 modules
  • PS2MaMe - MaMe (play arcade games) for the PS2
  • psx2vcd - convert bin/cue PS1 files to VCD; see script comments for requirements
  • RetroArch - RetroArch is available for various game consoles, including PlayStation variants
  • SuperTux - a PlayStation 2 port of SuperTux
  • uLaunchELF 4.43a - a PS2 program you can use to format hard drives up to 2TB in size if Winhiip is not an option or if only "28-bit" is showing for formatting
